In 2005 he founded St Matthew Billers, a professional medical billing and coding service that supports 10 medical practice groups including 4 major specialties. The business initially focused on nephrology billing before adding dialysis billing. Today, it bills for 14 dialysis units and 20 medical practices, generating over $75M in revenue annually. St Matthew Billers employs 60 highly-skilled personnel with more than 40 years of combined professional experience.
Akinyinka joined West Orange Nephrology at launch in 2004 to manage the practice and drive financial administration, a position that grew in line with the success of the business. It rapidly expanded to become West Orange Dialysis Services LLC, which was the owner of West Orange Maitland Dialysis Center LLC, West Orange Winter Garden Dialysis Center LLC, and West Orange Dental Group LLC. Among other services, the group operates state-of-the-art clinics specializing in the provision of kidney dialysis, treating high blood pressure and renal dysfunction, and housing a fully-equipped vascular access center. The company was sold for $16M in 2019 to Fresenius, one of the largest dialysis companies in the US.
Akinyinka Awosika is a Partner and VP of Revenue Cycle Management at RenViva Holdings, and Director of St Matthew Billers. Until recently, he was also an initiator and Partner at West Orange Dialysis Services. After graduating with a BSc. in Economics, Akinyinka completed an Associate in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding, followed by an MBA. During this time, he sought to combine his robust interest in healthcare innovation with his background in economics.
Akinyinka holds a 30% stake in West Orange Dialysis Holdings, which in turn has an 18.75% stake in RenViva Holdings, a physician owned and led dialysis provider focused on the patient experience and market leading clinical outcomes. He has been with RenViva since inception and is a core influencer in its mission to become catalysts of change in a growing chronic disease process. Together, RenViva’s leadership have over 75 years of combined experience and have passionately spearheaded the development of over 180 dialysis facilities across the country.
Akinyinka has an excellent reputation for his outstanding revenue management, team leadership, vendor negotiation, facility credentialing, and contract negotiation skills.
